       CHAPTER I

       Preliminary

Now the Indonesian government is developing a resort island famed for local and foreign travelers. They make it interesting by utilizing natural, base infrastructure and transport services .

            Although visiting a very wide area, enthusiasts ' traveling ' is never diminished from year to year. The ' traveler ' considers that traveled an interesting thing because a lot of new things that they can get. Melancong down getaways also be a special hobby.

Purposes :

• Adding broadening tourism .

• Opening up opportunities on the elements of tourism .

• Knowing more details about the island of Lombok

Lombok Island

Lombok Island is an island in the Lesser Sunda Islands or Nusa Tenggara are separated by the Lombok Strait from Bali in Sebelat west and the Alas Strait to the east of Sumbawa. Lombok is located in between two world famous tourist attraction is the island of Bali and Komodo island. Lombok addition to beautiful, safe and comfortable for vacationing also store a variety of unique cultures and traditions.

The origin word of “ Lombok”

Location of Geography

Lombok Strait marks the boundary of the flora and fauna of Asia. Starting from the island of Lombok to the east, flora and fauna more shows similarity with the flora and fauna found in Australia than Asia. Scientist who first stated this is Alfred Russel Wallace, a British in the 19th century. To honor this limit is called the Wallace Line.

Topography of the island is dominated by Rinjani volcano which height reaches 3,726 meters above sea level and making it the third-highest in Indonesia. The mountain last erupted in June-July 1994. In 1997 the mountain region and the adjoining lake Segara Anak declared protected by the government. Areas south of this island consists mostly of fertile land used for agriculture, commodities are usually grown in this area include maize, rice, coffee, tobacco and cotton.

The population of the island of Lombok is as much as 2,722,123 peoples. Lombok including West Nusa Tenggara province and the island itself is divided into 4 districts and 1 municipality, namely :

• Municipal Mataram

• West Lombok

• Central Lombok

• East Lombok

• North Lombok 

Transportation

                    Form of transportation on the island in the form of bus and minibus ( small minibus ). The main bus terminal is located in Bertais Mandalika. Rent a car or  motorbike is the best way to explore the island. You can rent a car and bike morot in Senggigi. Hotels and travel agencies offer competitive rates for car and motorcycle. If you 've rented a motorbike in Bali, you can take him to Lombok by ferry use.
          To get the local experience, enjoy your trip by driving cidomo or carriage. This type           of local transportation munkin not the fastest way to get around but the best way to enjoy the scenery around.

Culture

Acculturation between locals and Bali and Java are also seen in fashion and tradition. For example, headband, which is the customary fashion Sasak called sapuk ( men's wear ), in a fashion similar to a headband Bali.

a. ) Lombok International Airport

Domestic and international airports are located in the District. Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. b.)Accommodation
             

Beloam Jeeva is on a peninsula in the southeast of Tanjung Ringgit Lombok. Located approximately 90 minutes from the international airport. The scenery was amazing.
